PANOPTX LAUNCHES NEW LOGO, NEW TECHNOLOGY
7EYE by Panoptx to debut in Motor Market by January 2008
PLEASANTON, Calif. (October 30, 2007) - Panoptx, a premium eyewear brand with roots in the motorcycle industry, announced today that, effective January 2008, it will launch a new logo, a stylized numeral 7, tied to a new brand, 7EYE. The first Panoptx frames bearing the 7EYE logo have already been introduced in this market as the Seven by Panoptx Limited Edition III versions of the Taku and Whirlwind. An entire line of product for the motor category will hit retail this January.
Explaining the rationale behind the new name, Panoptx President and CEO Bob Hall noted, “We wanted a name with instant recognition, a logo that would stand out, a domain name that people could spell, a name with youthful energy and attitude. We found that combination with the 7 logo and 7EYE brand.” To the question, “Why 7?,” Hall replied , “At 7EYE, we create eyewear that helps consumers see all seven colors in the spectrum of visible light. By helping people see the world in all its colors, we give them the freedom to do whatever they want to do better and in greater comfort. We loved the 7EYE logo the moment we saw it. The reception by dealers and consumers with the Limited Edition III products has been strong, indicating that the future looks bright for 7EYE,” Hall added.
A complete line of 7EYE by Panoptx products for all categories will be ready by mid-January, 2008. All models will bear familiar names and fits to help retailers through the transition, including the Bora, Churada, Diablo and Whirlwind in the SPF100 (Seal Protection Factor of 100%) collection, and the Taku, Zephyr, Vortex and Gale in the SPF75 series. SPF100 provides 100% protection with the patented Orbital Seal™ eyecup and SPF75 delivers 75% coverage through an EVA foam air dam. MSRP’s for the collections run from $125 to $250 for SPF100 styles and from $75 to $175 for SPF75 styles. Photochromic and color-enhancing lenses are available in any frame style and prices vary depending on lens choice.
Also debuting with 7EYE by Panoptx are two new photochromic lens options, 24:7 Original and 24:7 Contrast, both powered by NXT®. Initially created to serve as windshield material in U.S. military aircraft, NXT is the most advanced photochromic sun lens material ever made, creating lenses with a broad transmission range, rapid activation and exceptional durability. NXT is so strong. lenses made from it are guaranteed for life against breakage.
“The introduction of 7EYE is the beginning of a new platform for product development,” notes Hall. “We have new eyecup technology and new frame designs due to roll out in 2008 that will clearly separate us in a very competitive market from the wanna-bes. We are creating a solid foundation for brand expansion and sales growth, and with new styles and new technology in the pipeline, 7EYE by Panoptx will fuel that growth.”
