7EYE BY PANOPTX INCREASES COMMITMENT TO NXT PERFORMANCE SUN LENSES
PPG Industries, Inc. and Intercast Europe Support Move with Increased Marketing Support
PLEASANTON, Calif. (April 9, 2008) – 7EYE by Panoptx, the premium sunwear brand with strong market positions in the motorcycle, optical, wintersports and fishing channels, is replacing its polycarbonate lens line with NXT lenses from Intercast, a division of PPG. As part of this agreement with Intercast, 7EYE is now directly importing NXT ophthalmic lenses in their proprietary 24:7 Original formula so they can offer ECP's and their customers the same quality lenses for prescription use that were previously only available in a plano configuration.
“Panoptx was one of the first brands to adopt NXT lenses due to their superior photochromic performance and exceptional impact resistance,Ó notes Jackson Hogen, 7EYE's VP of marketing and R&D. ÒBut the advantages of NXT don't end there. We wanted more of our customers to experience the advanced optics, light weight and unsurpassed clarity of NXT lenses, so we are extending our NXT lens collection to include all of our marine polarized lenses, effective immediately, and will be stepping up to NXT in our Re-ACT (Amplified Color Technology) lenses this spring.”
7EYE’s increased commitment to PPG's NXT lenses is being reciprocated with marketing support from PPG that has allowed 7EYE to substantially increase their advertising campaign among ECP trade publications with ad placements that began in January.
“To encourage 7EYE to make the transition from polycarbonate to NXT lenses we agreed to some cooperative ventures that have allowed 7EYE to introduce NXT to more market channels and segments without upsetting their retail price structure,Ó says Brian Putos, Intercast's Business Development Manager. ÒWe are delighted with the ÒPowered by NXTÓ campaign that 7EYE has initiated to reinforce the association of our two innovative brands.”
“We are fortunate to have such good partners as Brian and his team at PPG,” observes Bob Hall, president and CEO of 7EYE. “This partnership allows us not only to offer a superior lens to more of our customers, but gives us a larger share of voice in leading optical trade publications, helping us to build our brand in the critical ECP channel.”
