FAQs

Please refer to our cleaning and care guide for proper cleaning instructions. Do not leave glasses in a hot car as the lens
coating on the lenses and foam on the eyecup can be affected by excessive heat.

We suggest NOT using soap and water, BUT either a gentle makeup remover or a baby wipe. Using small circular motions and the tip of your finger with the baby wipe, massage the dirt away. Please refrain from using sunscreen around your eyes while wearing 7eye sunglasses with the eye-cup.

Each eyecup usually lasts anywhere from 3 months to 5 years depending on care & cleaning methods. Never soak the eyecups in water. Always use a pre-moistened wet cloth and make sure the eyecup and magnets/foam are fully dry before placing back on the frame. Make-up, lotions, and sweat will also affect the longevity of the eyecups.

It is very important to find the best seal around your eyes with the least gap as possible because the better the seal the better it'll protect your eyes. You may submit a picture of your face to us so that we can give you our top 3 suggestions. If you've never tried our eyewear before it is highly recommended to try at least 3 options to find the best fit. Participate in our 10 Day Trial Programand refer to our First Time User Guide.

Most of our frames can accommodate prescription lenses. We cannot guarantee any prescription fitting until we see your prescription.

Using sunscreen around the eyewear may affect 7eye's foamed eyecup (silicone eyecup is ok) as it can leave black marks around the eyes when it is a new eyecup. This typically occurs the first 2 or 3 times of wearing the glasses. If you wish to use sunscreen, please apply it beforehand and let it absorb into your skin before using the glasses.

Wear the glasses slightly away from your face. Allow a gap of about 1/4th of your finger because too perfect of a seal will not allow perspiration to escape. (Note: Medical providers will need at least a 99% seal). There is currently no anti-fog coating or spray that will result in a complete, permanent fog-free experience. That said, you can purchase an anti-fog spray from your local sports retailer, Amazon, or from our shop to help restore the original anti-fog experience.

7eye glasses have foam behind the frame and looks more like sunglasses so it looks more like outdoor glasses when worn. Most 7eye frames are Z87.1 safety rated glasses and are sturdier. Ziena glasses have silicone behind the frame and look more like optical frames that you can wear for both indoor and outdoor use. If you play sports, 7eye is recommended. If you have dry eyes, whatever frame provides the best seal around the eyes is the best choice.

ANSI stands for the American National safety Institute and Z87. 1 is the name of the safety standard pertaining to safety eyewear. For a style to be ANSI Z87.1 compliant, that particular pair of sunglasses has to pass a series of stringent tests ranging from the optical quality of the lens to impact resistance of the frame. For a style to be ANSI Z87.1 compliant, those sunglasses have to be tested by an accredited third-party company and pass all pertinent tests.

The answer is no. Any Polycarbonate-made material would have BPA in it. It acts as a solidifying agent so that the plastic doesn't stay too soft. This is present in any polycarbonate lenses in our products.

BPA is mostly used in most plastics and food can lining. It affects the female reproductive system thus it is mentioned in the ubiquitous Prop 65. As long as you don't digest a few hundred lenses at one time, the level of BPA in our product needed to affect your reproductive system, it should be ok. But by the time you eat that many lenses, don't worry about the reproductive system. Let's focus more on your pipe system everywhere else in the body.

The Prop 65 warning is not enforced in all states. However, as 7eye resides in a state where Prop 65 is enforced, it is required to mention it everywhere the products are sold. For more information, please refer to this government link

Impact resistance means that particular style passed the high mass impact resistance test. This test consists of a 500-gram pointed metal projectile being dropped on the lenses from about 4 feet above. The eyewear must remain intact with no frame or lens pieces detaching. For example, inferior lenses will shatter into many pieces upon impact during an accident, thereby increasing the likelihood of eye damage. All lenses by 7eye by Panoptx are impact resistant and won't fracture into as many pieces, decreasing the likelihood of eye damage.

7eye by Panoptx products (with the exception of Rider Readers) are assembled at the 7eye headquarters located in Ontario, California with global materials. Our products are highly customizable: each order is made-to-order and not mass produced.

Fit before Style. Before you focus on the style you need to make sure you get a pair that provides a total OrbitalSeal™ around your face. This will ensure our patented eyecup will keep the elements out and keep your eyes moist and safe.

We emphasize fit before style. Normal fashion glasses do not need to form a seal around your face. When it comes to dry eyes, it's all about the seal. The curve of the frame needs to match your face curvature. Consider our 10 Day Trial Program or emailing us photos of your face so that you can find your best fit.

Yes. The eyecup creates a “moisture chamber” around the eye, ideal for motorcyclists, dry eye patients, skiers, high altitude climbers and more.

Yes, we honor all of our servicemen and servicewomen 365 days a year.  We give a 25% discount on any of our frames with valid documentation. Register or use your existing GOVX account to claim this discount. Documentation can also be emailed to us for one time registration. The offer excludes discontinued frames and prescription lenses.

Before you send the glasses back, please have someone take picture of you wearing the product. Take pictures of top of the frame, front view, and below the frame where we can see the foam sealing around your face and see where the gap is. This will let us at 7eye check the fit for you.

When cleaning the lenses please do not use a lens cleaner that has alcohol or is an alcohol-based solution, as it will damage the anti-fog coating.

Yes. Please be careful of your surroundings as peripheral vision is hampered.

Regardless of lens color or darkness all of our lenses, including clear lenses, have 100% UVA+UVB protection. We shouldn't be complacent thinking 100% UV is all you need. Bright light that has UV filtered can still damage eyes. For outdoors, we recommend a dark tinted lens, especially with polarization to reduce glare.

Yup. Nowadays eyewear companies prefer to say 100% UVA + UVB to sound like there are extra things in there. Thanks marketing fluff team!

We have removed a few countries as an option, because we have local shops that sell the glasses in your country. Ordering through your country locations will save you excessive international shipping fees and worse, the custom duties, which is often 30-50% of your order amount.
