We had a brief conversation discussing alternatives, pro's and con's and he set realistic expectations for timeframe. I have found over the years that 7Eye/Panoptx Sunglasses (Daniel) has consistently provided quality products that meet my standards and needs. Theyâre stylish strong versatile and I found the customer service to be exemplary. My prescription lens was a bit challenging for them, but they came through just fine.
Over the last few months I have given up on using contact lenses and single vision sunglasses while riding my HD motorcycle. I purchased my RX in a set of Wiley X frames from Sportrx, a second order in Oakley ballistic from Sportrx, and the third a pair room you at 7Eye. All the lenses had the same rx with photochromatic features. Your rendition in my ten year old whirlwind frames came out the best. I wore them today on my ride. Your lenses are perfectly placed, they are as thin as is appropriate based on my heavy prescription. The Oakleys ordered from Sportrx, came in second. Perfectly placed, fairly thin lenses. Note the order was through Sportrx, but the lenses were manufactured and installed by Oakley. I'll use them for out door activities like hunting, hiking, etc. The Wiley X frames were ordered through Sportrx, and the lenses were manufactured and installed by Sportrx. I note that this set of lenses are thicker than yours or the Oakley set. Sportrx added plastic frame to the front of the Wiley X frame to hold the lenses. It works, but the whole effect appears like I'm wearing goggles. Sportrx called me and told me what they intended to do and I approved it. After receiving and using this set, they work fine, I realized that my everyday eye glasses and sunglasses are quite thin. Mind you, all of these are the same prescription. Bottom line, to me, and no lens expert just a consumer paying the freight, it appears the Sportrx lenses are not as high tech in the manufacturing. 7EYE and Oakley lens work is much better. We got the notus photochromatic lenses from yellow to yellow gray. These glasses are awesome. Even better is customer service! We called many times because my husband has a deep bridge and we wanted to make sure the coverage for his face would work and everything was great. I would definitely recommend 7eye to anyone interested in motorcycle glasses.
Iâve been having eye complications since I was 4 years old, had surgery for the first time at 9, and cataracts and retinal detachments in early middle age. My latest adventure is Sjogrenâs Syndrome. My eyes have always had a tendency to freeze and cloud up in lower temperatures.
After posterior capsule laser procedure the freezing and clouding got worse. It started happening when temps were in the 60âs F. I needed a solution for bicycling and dry desert conditions.
These Notus frames seal almost completely around my face. The trick is to attach the included Chums style strap which can be tightened to create an almost goggle type seal. Notably, the straps are a tubular fabric material which is turned in upon itself like paired socks. As such itâs impossible to attach to the adjustable temple pieces so I unrolled it and was able to slide the temple pieces in. 7Eye please take note of this. Including the strap is much appreciated but it should work right out of the box.
The sunglasses sit about 1/2â - 3/8â away from my face with the foam seal attached. Removing the foam seal has the lenses much closer, with my eyelashes touching the lenses. As such with this wrap from the base curve of the frames, there may be conditions when I wonât need the foam insert at all. I am used to no base curve at all, just flat frames with cover up style shades, so the basic design of 7eye frames reduces wind and exposure with even out the foam cups.
My Rx came out perfect and delivery was exactly two weeks from my order. I like the squarish look of the Notus frames better than the other oval styles. This also provides incredible peripheral vision.
